Allowing Abundance

My relationship with worldly wealth was marked by struggle from an early age. I know this to be a carry over from memories of past lives. I retain clear remembrance of lifetimes as a monk, nun, or friar, from various religious traditions spanning the course of history. During the Middle Ages when learning was not as widespread and easily available to the public, monasteries and hermitages also acted as universities and repositories of sacred knowledge and esoteric wisdom. It was not uncommon for members of the gentry, even aristocracy, to adopt the role of clerics so they could assess the vast stores of hidden knowledge. Then there are lifetimes from an even more ancient past: Atlantean. I remember being a teacher of the Esoteric Wisdom in Atlantis. There were many Mystery Schools at that time. But because I had vowed to protect the knowledge from those who would manipulate it for their own selfish ends, I met with a terrible death. This happened quite a few lifetimes. As an Egyptian priest and priestess in later lives, I was subjected to a similar treatment. And during the Inquisition, many of us were burnt at the stake or tortured horribly for speaking our truth and disclosing information that would empower the public.

Many of these memories were lodged in the cellular memory. Over the years, through lucid meditative experiences and my own past life regression practice, I became increasingly aware of the traumas of these memories lodged in my energy field. No wonder ever since I was a child, I felt unsupported by the Universe! Somewhere along the line, because I was killed and tortured for what I knew and believed in, I lost faith in God. That carried over to this life, too. Although I was raised in a very well off family, where affluence and worldly success were the accepted norm of things, something in me would rebel or deliberately spurn affluence and worldly success, out of an irrational fear that has its seeds in a remote past. When I was nineteen, I was involved in a horrific skiing accident during which I broke my back. To this day sometimes the lower back would act up. As you know, the back is symbolic of "support". That is a reminder of my erroneous perception that the Universe did not support me.

Only in the past few years have I become aware of this limiting belief. I have since released all the vows of poverty, lack, taking on other's sufferings, etc. These values, from an old and rigid belief system, no longer serve me. In this modern day and age, you can enjoy knowledge and wisdom as well as worldly success. A full life consists of both spiritual and worldly abundance, a surplus of all the resources that you could possibly want on all levels-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. You can have your cake and eat it too.

The best way to welcome Abundance into your life is to cultivate an attitude of Gratitude and Allowance. By the law of Attraction, you will bring into your life whatever is reflected in your most basic belief system. That means, if you are thinking lack and neediness at all times, you are drawing in more lack into your life. On the other hand, if you feel abundant and grateful, you are literally opening up your arms to more abundance.

The mind is incredibly powerful. You create your reality with your thoughts. Consciousness is the determining factor. The Universe always responds to your deepest most thoughts and feelings. Just a few observations about Hong Kong on this trip. We have been suffering an economic downturn for the past 5 years. This, no doubt, is a manifestation of our collective karma, our collective mind-set. During those years when we were indulging in our rapid real estate boom and affluence, some of us gave into pretty extravagant indulgences. Everywhere you went, you could hear Hong Kongers speaking in their classic loud, brash, flashy style. Too much arrogance begets a fall. And so this downturn is a mixed blessing. Many people have been forced to do soul searching. Some of them have become more introspective, and have had to discover a new meaning or sense of purpose in their lives. The gist of the lesson, I believe, is learning about the power of the mind. Our consciousness creates our reality. If we wallow in a poverty consciousness, we are prone to attract more lack and neediness into our lives. If we are grateful and stay centered and positive, we are likely to invite more abundance and opportunities. So, this is a period of great learning. And we should be grateful for this opportunity.

Nowadays, I design workshops, seminars and courses for different organizations and individuals who wish to live their lives in a full and abundant manner. The secret is to allow. "I flow. I allow. I am in harmony with the Universal Law." You dare to ask for what you want, but you are not attached to the outcome. That's an ideal combination, and it works. One affirmation that I like goes like this: "I AM ABUNDANCE BEING IN ALL WAYS, ALWAYS. AND SO BE IT."
