Healing the Emotions and the Heart
Often
we complain about an emptiness we feel inside our guts, right in the
midst of the complex demands and busy-ness of our lives. Deep inside,
many of us feel lonely and needy. Many of us are struggling with a heaviness
laden with guilt and despair. We might have learned or inherited this
as young children from our parents, or from our past lives. Very often
the same debilitating themes weave in and out of our life cycles and
become a whirlpool that mercilessly sucks us in. There is an achy feeling,
or a nagging voice that gets progressively louder as we try to muffle
it or run away. The voice is a plea for help from our inner self. If
this voice remains unattended, it manifests in other ways—obsessive/compulsive
patterns, substance abuse, alcoholism, chronic fatigue, guilt and depression,
dysfunctional sexuality, and emotionally abusive behavior. |
